NOTICE: You are responsible for contacting your agent to CANCEL YOUR CRUISE RESERVATION. If you DO NOT cancel your reservation prior to the penalty period (usually within 75 days of scheduled departure), AND you have paid LESS than the per person penalty amount on your account, THEN you will be responsible for paying the outstanding amount due. Please be aware...your group's cruise documents will NOT be released by the cruise line until this balance has been resolved in full. As a result, we strongly encourage all cancellations to be communicated to your travel agent prior to the 75 day deadline. Please consult with your agent should you have any questions about our cancellation policies.
All monies paid to BMD Travel and Tours until the cruise is paid in full, is paid directly to the respective cruise line upon receipt.
General Cruise Line Statement (regarding strikes, lockout, weather, etc):
"In the event of strikes, lockouts, riots, weather conditions, mechanical difficulties or for any other reason whatsoever, we may, at any time and without prior notice, cancel, advance, postpone or deviate from any scheduled sailing or port of call and may, but is not obliged to, substitute another vessel or port of call, and shall not be liable for any loss whatsoever to guests by reason of such cancellation, advancement, postponement, deviation or substitution. We shall not be responsible for any failure to adhere to the published arrival and departure times for any of its ports of call."
While the cruise lines are NOT responsible for refunding money due to strikes, lockout, weather conditions, etc. They (the cruise line) will; however, if sailing on your scheduled sailing date was interrupted, will allow passengers to reschedule your cruise (except in the event of bankruptcy and cease all operations, then a reschedule will not be possible). As far as filing bankruptcy, BMD Travel and Tours required that all cruise partners are financially stable (traded on the stock exchange). Of course in writing, they indicate they won't be held liable for such occurrences, but in order to preserve customer relations, they are historically known to adjust their policies according to the situation.
